We support "Welcome Baby Bags"
volunteer team from Welcome-Baby-Bags
"Welcome Baby Bags" is a Berlin project that helps women in acute emergency situations and their babies. The association Ecumenical Women's Center Evas Arche eV launched the project in October 2016. Funded by donations in kind and money, volunteers put together a starter bag. It contains more than 45 products - from baby items, hygiene and care products to important everyday items such as baby sleeping bags and towels. The donations come from private individuals as well as initiatives and companies. The individually packed and coordinated bags provide quick and practical support in the first period after the birth.
More than 100 cooperation partners act as intermediaries between the expectant mothers and "Welcome Baby Bags", such as midwives, baby guides, social workers from emergency and community accommodation, health and youth welfare offices or voluntary companions of the families. They each submit an application for a bag to the project. This means that the help reaches the women quickly and unbureaucratically.
If you would like to support the initiative yourself, e.g. with baby clothes that have become too small or a sum of money, then visit welcomebabybags.de and find out what is currently needed.
